If the contests are allowed to run on other forums concurrently then I think its a must that we are aware of that. Personally, I would limit contests to run here only. If they dont like what they see from the designers they could just say so, close the contest and take it elsewhere. This might also draw more designers to the forum in search of fresh contests to enter which may in turn draw more contest holders.

A minimum closing date / time should be mandatory. We need to know how long we have to submit designs as most of us will be working on other projects and it would help us manage our time better.

If designers want to protect their designs, watermarking really goes without saying.

All points raised are good ones.

Congrats on the position angele803!

I think contests should be limited to here only and as iKon said, if no design they like is found, then they can take it over to another forum.

As for the closing date/time, I believe that this should be mandatory one hundred percent!

Thanks for the congrats everyone. I am going to try to get in contact with all the contests holders that have contests in limbo. Hopefully we will get them to finish what they started.

What do you guys think about a "listing template". Basically a template that shows all the things a contest holder should list when creating a contest. We kind of have this going already, but if we make a template, maybe we can get more people to use it and have more info on the contests. Here are some things I think we should have.

1. Type of contest (logo, banner, web design, web design with code, other)
2. Website/Location where graphic will be presented.
3. General Description of design requirements
4. Preferred Colors
5. Size
6. Closing Date
7. Prize

If you have other ideas or amendments you would like to see in this, please suggest them!

I think it's a great idea. I would suggest preffered file format in there. (ei, psd, eps, jpg, gif... ect..)

Wow i havent really checked this forum out but im glad i did now also congrats Angele803 on the mod postion .

I have a few ideas maybe a modification for the forums that gives 1 point to a person who has run a contest and has made payment to the winner.. kinda like talkupation but people cant give it out only mods can.. it wont stop people from making fake contests but it will help us see who actually pays...

I still think there needs to be more moderators maybe 3-5 on the graphics contest forum alone! the only one i see around is angele803..

As for stoping fake contest i really think that the contest verified would be a great idea but one problem there would have to be a heck of alot of mods to do that... so we dont have to wait like 2-3 days just to get a contest verified so we cant enter it...

WATERMARK is the key word.. and i agree with having a webmaster-talk.com watermark that everyone should put in there entrys.

Also heres a good suggestion everyone make a Watermark Logo like me and Neonimage did.. it will help prove that the contest entry was yours!

No not really if you had enough mods and they all checked this contest thread regularly not just once in a blue moon.

Yah i have modded forums before.. and i would take off all images that art watermarked and leave a note ~Watermark your entry before submitting~

I would also do research on a contest try to see if it is posted else were and if it is... give all the links to the forums this contest is posted so members of this forum could see if there ideas are being stolen else were.

1 Mod is definetly not enough but oh wellz lol...

Im outta ideas! :P

pretty much the only way to lower the risks of fake contests is to up the number of mods for the graphics contest forum alone maybe 3-5 mods for this forum alone! only way i can see it improving.
