The name of the website is StoryBlorg. It is going to be a story sharing community where users share and build on each other's fictional stories. You can see the colors I'm probably going to use here: http://www.storyblorg.com/
This is a two part contest (two logos), both need to be very simple.
#1 a two or three color logo with the initials "SB" only.
#2 the word StoryBlorg, in a single solid color.
Both need to be in PSD format, with layers so that I can remove the background to make it transparent.
Contest closes in two weeks, Friday, Sept 25th, but if I like an entry I'll close it earlier.

So... You just want text images? Or do you also want a fancy background or some visual effects?
Attempt 1:
I chose for three bubbles, which should be standing for the most common subjects people talk about : Love, work, and study. I chose for a light white colour for the text because I think it fits with the blue background. The water marks can be removed, obviously.

Nothing fancy. Think Digg, Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, etc.
logo #1 may have some designs in it, as long as it reduces well if made small, and as long as it is no more than 2-3 colors.
logo #2 needs to be only letters, nothing else. Of course you're free to do whatever you like with the letters, shape wise, as long as you do it with a single color.

Ok, I need to be more clear here. I'm looking for two separate logos.
One needs to just be the initials "SB". This could be as simple as those initials in a circle, as long as it is memorable. If you use a standard font please squish, expand, or otherwise change the image to make it unique. Same goes for logo #2:
The second logo needs to be just words. For now, make it plain white, and put it against a blue background. If I want to do something else with it I will overlay it myself. Feel free to be creative in how the word transitions from "story" to "Blorg". I'm more interested in the quality of the second logo than the first. The first just needs to be able to reduce well.

Better, though if there is going to be something like a feather in the "SB", I would rather see it as a silhouette, with the color the same as one of the other colors, probably just white.
I'm not sure I like that font. I'd rather see something rounded or even blocky. The "StoryBlorg" isn't memorable enough. By memorable I don't mean spectacularly fancy, just unique.

What about... This one?
I can remove the ring and the watermark.

Too hard to read. I don't want people to think of a chaos when they think of the site, but rather slowly expanding, progressing, ever growing stories. Think the wisdom of the crowd, where the best ideas bubble to the top and become reality, then are improved upon.

Try it on your background, that might not confuse you. It's hard to see on this background.

I like this one the best: http://www.webmaster-talk.com/921851-post12.html
But I would rather see the "story blorg" as all one word, like this: storyBlorg, or this: StoryBlorg. Also, it needs to be all one color.
As for the initials, can you put it in a block of some sort, or give it some sort of background that is attached to the letters? (as few colors as possible please) The initials should be able to be reduced without too much trouble to a 16 x 16 favicon if needed.
When I first dreamed up this project, I thought it would be cool if the "blorg" part of the letters would look like a ballon that was being blown up, with one end fatter than the other. This would represent an expanding idea. If this is too hard it is ok, but it's a thought.
