Note: Deadline is extended to June 17, 2009
This contest is for Ultra-Gentle Hygiene Care Inc.
1. Need a logo to project the business as a mobile, professional teeth cleaning services. Try a white tooth on roller blades holding a tooth brush, or surprise us.
2. Make it appeal to nursing homes, retirement homes, and big companies to do dental hygiene on-site.
3. Here's the website template that will be used, so please match it, banner with slogan a big plus.
http://www.templatemonster.com/websi...tes/16161.html
4. Try to promote "GREEN", as in environmental friendly, because it will be one person travelling (as opposed to hundreds travelling to the hygienist) therefore, saving the environment from further contaminants. We will even consider "GREEN" as in color, if you can make it work. We can always change the website template's color scheme from maroon.
Need as many entries as you can churn out in one week so that we can vote on them. Part of the fun is admiring the creativity and nice design ideas. A lot of feedback will be provided this time, and fast, so please check this thread frequently.
Thanks!
Color Scheme: Green, also to coincide with the "GREEN" (environmental friendly) theme Type of Design: Logo Desired Dimensions: N/A Desired Filetypes: PSD Prize: $40 How prize will be delivered: Paypal End Date: Jun 15, 2009

Hi everyone, don't mean to bump this, but I am anxious to see some submissions, are you guys and gals too busy?
If the prize is a concern, please keep in mind this is a start-up, need logo and everything for a brand new home-based business. Money is being spent in 360 different directions.
Please at least let me know you are working on it, if indeed you are.
Thanks.

The colors I used were chosen from the website's template.
What do you think?

Finally a submission! Thanks Madman.
1. This particular tooth on wheels is too stationary and doesn't convey the mobile nature of the business. Can you do something about it to make it mobile?
2. Not too fond of the typeface, it's not professional. Also, for the web banner I think you can drop the Inc.
3. Please use white background for the revisions, it may help to overlay your work on the template, see the link provided in the original post.
4. Not sure about the UGHCI, but I think it's not necessary since it's doesn't rhyme and can't even be pronounced. I'll let the owner comment (WT ID is ongdd).
Thanks.

By the way, it's missing a toothbrush. However small it is, I think it will make a big difference in conveying "tooth hygiene".
No requirement as to whether the logo should be cartoonish or life-like. Based on the idea of tooth on roller blades with toothbrush, my first impression is that it will be quite cartoonish. That being said, feel free to think outside of the cartoon box.

Here's my design as promised. Tried to do as asked and make the tooth appear mobile and more lively. Used colors from the template and just used flat colors (so that it is best for print). Could try gradients but make make it look too complicated.

I like that design, the only thing I'd suggest is making the less opaque image even less apparent...

Again Robert, right on in my opinion, but of course the owner may have her own comment too.
I'll put in my 2 cents anyway.
1. I agree with Madman, and perhaps...
2. a little wind effect? Not sure how it would affect it in print though.
3. Can the tooth lean forward a bit or somehow give it even more of the "tooth in motion" feel?
4. Is he missing the right eye brow?
5. Great toothbrush, wondering how it would look if held with left hand and in 45 degrees forward? With the tooth leaning forward we may get the "charging forward!" effect?
6. Can you change the yellow sparkle with something else more uh... more... I dunno. Right now it looks a bit like a flower, even if it's still quite obvious it's a sparkle.
Hope that's not too much comment. Overall and the first impression is still great.
Madman, another try perhaps?
Thanks guys!

Thanks, glad you like it =)
Pretty much made every change you asked and some extras.
*Leaned tooth forward slightly (believe he looks more in motion now)
*Put toothbrush in front hand to appear as he is ready to go
*Fixed his eyebrow (I dunno what happened to it lol)
*Lightened his copy and put it closer to look more in motion rather than
teleportation
*Changed the sparkle to just a simple star, I think it is more harmonious
*Changed font size and location to coincide with the new brush position
Thanks for the suggestions, it does look more like he is ready to go more now and before maybe he was a little too idle.

Since all the cool people are using gradients I thought I would add some too and have a few variations... with the second image or with lines to show quick movement.
Maybe more appealing to the eye =) Not sure how good or costly on print though

Wow, Hylith, solid work. The lines seem to work better. One suggestion, from a design perspective: To suggest motion, turn the head clockwise just a bit, put the toothbrush in the back hand angled behind, and make the left (trailing) skate look like it's facing the viewer. Then you can move the figure closer to the text and tighten it up some.

Hmmm, personally I like the one with lines, it's more in motion. Yeah must be cheaper and easier on print too. Gradient is nice too. Can you all add the "water reflection" effect for both the logo and text? BRB...

Thanks Tim, but then that causes a few problems too, like the star sparkle on the tooth's head and brush would be too close and it may not look balanced (I could remove it). He may also lose that charging to clean look (if I put it back to the back hand) but I agree it would tighten it up. So I guess I will leave that up to y2k or whoever he is helping, since I am sure he will read your post too =) Appreciate the comments!

I didn't mean the watermark of course, I didn't even see it just now using iPhone's tiny screen.
Kate,
1. I think you may want to remove the ring in order for the logo to fit the template better, though it can probably stay in place for print purposes.
2. The tooth itself is feminine enough, anymore than that (like the fuschia in the ring) makes it a bit overkill, though the hygienist may like it.
3. Can't really tell she is wearing a pair of roller skates.
4. The hands don't quite fit, more so with her right hand, perhaps try a thumb up facing forward.
5. THAT's the sparkle (on the teeth) I was talking about! Nice touch.
6. The tooth itself looks fine as is, but if the roller skates/blades are made more prominent, then my suggestion again would be to make it more like a tooth in motion. Sorry I know that may result in a major rework.
Overall a very nice and cute logo.

Good idea with the trailing skate facing the viewer, I was just thinking how to adjust the legs as currently the tooth is "gliding" in motion because both legs are identical.
Robert, please turn the eyes to the right to face the viewer.
