Logo contest for a Christian Daycare

My sisters are starting up a home-based daycare and would like a logo to go with it. It will be Christian based and they'd like the logo to reflect that. The name of it is Heavenly Care Daycare - and they'd like that in the logo, please.

They are pretty open to ideas right now - thoughts included clouds or angels/wings or a cross - any of those with kids incorporated into it. I left the dimensions open as well, because I don't think we care at this point if it's square or rectangular or whatever. We'd like to see your ideas and just have it be resizable.

I would like to have the logo in a JPG and a PSD file that I can change to any size for use on their letterhead, business cards, website, etc.

Please let me know if I missed anything.

Simple & clean.

"Daycare" logos, from what I see, always fall into the trap of looking like horrible clipart. With "Comic Sans" font and horrible clipart drawings of baloons, schoolhouses, and children holding hands.

Well, since it is for children, balloons, schoolhouses, and children holding hands would be ideal for the logo.

I'm not sure how far a clean professional logo will go with the kids.

Thanks for the entries thus far. I was actually kind of surprised that none of them were more "kid-related"... but katesrobyn's did stick out at me. I have asked my sisters to take a look to see if this is a direction they'd like to head in or if they want it to be more geared towards kids. Will respond later today. Thanks!

I agree I do like KatesRobyn's design. It works together well =)

If you are looking for something more geared towards children I will try another design.

Perhaps, but its the parents that are going to be looking at the logo, not the kids. Professional looking logo gives parents of children more confidence in the professionalism of the childcare providers. A sloppily put together logo with cliche and horrible clipart drawings of baloons and children holding hands really doesn't seperate a daycare service from all the others. Maybe im throwing a bit of my own bias in here as well... im more of a minimalist, corporate, investment banker wall-street type guy when it comes to logos.

Those are some solid business cards that are posted above, btw.

I spoke with them and I believe the hope is that ya'll can come up with something that meets in the middle. i.e. Not a cheapy, clipart looking logo, but something that does bring the child element into it yet still looks professional and fresh.

No, I think the client should really pick that one above. It has all the elements they are asking for. Besides KR has put the most effort into this particular thread anyhow. Out of all the logos in this thread, I like the one on the business cards personally.

I have two concepts for your Home Day Care. I can edit them, so feedback is appreciated. The difference between the two is that there is a sun in the second image. The images can be resized so that they can fit documents.

Sorry for the delay in response - long weekend and finally back at it!

@ katesrobyn: They like it! Unsure on the font - can you try one that is more sharp? And please do away with the tie on the boy.

@ Darbs: Nice work, but it seems a bit "big" for a logo. And still doesn't really have that kid appeal.

Anyone else have something to submit? They'd really like to see something else...

well you can resize it haha... i make them big so that you can use them on anything.
but i'll rework it and see what you think.
