$50 weekend logo contest! (only 24 hours)

Hi all,

First of all, I'm sorry about the last minute post on this one. I know we usually like to have a little more time to put these together, but I'm on a deadline so I have to act fast.

Here is what I need. The new website is called GrabAShovel.com. It's a response to this article.

The idea is that taxpayer money is being WASTED on a stimulus package loaded with big government pork and overspending, and being pitched as a savior for the economy.

Regardless of your political opinions, hopefully you'll admit this could be a lot of fun.

There are two ways this could go...

1) A Pig Cartoon/Character handing the reader a shovel, mixed in with a good font logo. I did a contest here on WMT some time ago that yielded this logo, which I love... so think along those lines.

2) Alternately, you can just use your imagination and come up with something that visually says "fat cats in washington want you to work for them" (without that actual text, of course).

Color Scheme: Color scheme is pretty open. White background is all.

I absolutely have to have this project done this weekend, so the sooner we can get something chosen, the better. I will choose a winner sometime on Saturday, 01-10-09.

HAHA! That's awesome with the pig and shovel. Not a fan of the font and the heavy pink in the font, but the pig is DEF headed in the right direction.

OK, you got my attention. I used to do political cartoons for the Daily Tar Heel back in college, for one. Also, back when the bank bailouts started I'd already created Pork Barrel Piggie:

I actually used him as my avatar here for awhile. I think he'd be perfect for what you're going for. Tell me what you think:

If you have some idea of use, I can modify the dimensions if you like it.

The image is what I based mine on -- In terms of copyright, it's got to be different enough than the original that it was referenced from. Tried to add/change some stuff,...

Good evening all... er... morning for some perhaps?

Anyway, I first want to say THANK you all for joining in on this last minute, 24 hour contest. I know these short ones with little time for input can be difficult to participate in, so for those who did I want to personally say thank you.

I like everything I see here. I especially like two of the logos submitted, but obviously, I can only choose one. The one logo that stands out and fits our needs best is the logo submitted by coolgraphs.

So, on that note... congrats to coolgraphs on a successful contest win!

Positive iTrader rating given. From the contests you've held I think you've shown how contest holders should conduct themselves. We can only hope that other CHs will follow your lead.
