Hi,

Someone told me that for my top keywords, I should delete them from the current adgroup and put them in one of their own. Is this good or bad advice? Also, your current stats/history for those keywords will be lost which I am not sure if it is a good or bad thing!

Can never hurt to try a new ad group with top performing keywords and then try a new ad group with other keywords to see how they perform. You can always save the current stats you have to date.

Hi,

So the best way to implement this would be to pause the current adgroup, create 2 new ones with top performers in the one and other keywords in the other?

It can't hurt, but if you're happy the way things are performing now, you could leave it, too. But from my experience -- been trying this tactic for about 3 months now myself, so am fairly new with it, too -- it helps and can give your ad(s) more exposure. For example, I have one product that targets diabetics and seniors, so I can make 2 ad groups, but focus one on the diabetics and one on seniors, using only keywords they might use to search -- hope that made sense. I started with just one general ad for the product for everyone looking for something like it, which gets clicks, yes, but not good ROI, in fact, can get expensive. So it's like segmenting possible click-thru's, targeting them very narrowly so as to increase ROI and decrease useless click thru's, saving you a few $$$.

Did that help? Hope so!!

It does make sense thanks. I will have a play about and see what can be made of it!
