But I am not getting much impressions/clicks. Could anybody please suggest me some keywords.

I don't think simply putting some keywords in your site is going to help. The main thing is you're competing against Craigslist, which can't be very easy. It sounds like you let people post job want ads for free (?) which is something CL doesn't do, but if that's the only thing that distinguishes you from them, I don't think any amount of keywords will help.

You probably want to ask around in the AdWords forum, but I think click rates tend to be pretty low. You might need 100 viewers to get a click. ( Or more, or less, I really don't know, and I think it depends on the audience. ) So you want to drive hundreds of thousands of people to your site if you want to make a profit through adsense.

And to do that, you probably need to differentiate yourself from Craigslist by adding more cool stuff they don't have. If you can do that, the site will advertise itself - people will put up a classified for something they're trying to sell, and email the URL to their ten friends saying "forward this to anybody who might want snow-shoes."

Not really related to your question but if I can give a suggestion.

Above every category/page, I would put the following in a h2 tag:

Add Classified to $category_name

This will eventually give good results when people search for

"add classified" "their topic"

which is what I (and I leanred it from others) do all the time.

Same with "add url" for link sites.

Thank you so much for the suggestions. Right now as per Google adwords goes there isnt too much competition on that. I am getting one ad post per 22 visitors spending 2.82 dollars. Which may be good I am not sure.
Craigslist is a monster site with half a million people visiting everyday. I am pulling my hair everyday to come up with something unique, nobody ever did. Nothing yet. I have free postings in all categories which craigslist dont. But I think that wont give me much advantage over them. Because they have huge number of visitors, so people are willing to pay.
I will give a try with the post to [category]. That will be some sort of SEO I guess.

Yes it'll be good SEO indeed as well as helping people looking for sites to submit their url to (for free)

Also if you have a friend with a high page rank site, try to get a link from him. Your pagerank 1/10 isn't much incentive for people to post either.

Just be patient, ride it out, invest time and eventually things will go onward and upward (including your pagerank).

Honestly you probably never will and your site will never "steal" any members who like CL. I'm an avid CL user for just about everything and I wouldn't leave for another site. What you want are those thousands of people a year who are disgruntled with CL, over being flagged off because they're spamming, trying to sell animals or stud services or violating any of the written and unwritten rules of the site, and those that complain about the site not being monetized. Yes, there are some people who think CL should put up ads on the site.

Look in the feedback and help forum for the ashes of many flame wars they start and try to draw those people to your site. Search the net for blogs and forums where they're expressing their displeasure w/CL and make them your friend and let them know about the CL alternative. The disgruntled will tell everyone they know or anyone who will listen about something that is wrong with a service but they also tell many others about things they do like.

Use that to your advantage.

Also if I was you I'd set up a blog somewhere where I wrote articles about how to sell stuff on-line, how to take pictures that sell, and rant about the competition yadda yadda yadda and use it to promote your site.
