Hi and thanks. My product is very esoteric. Currently no ads appear when I search google with my potential keywords. Does this mean I have no competition for these keywords and I can lowball the CPC etc?

Not necessarily....
Have you checked the search count?

And determine if you have something that people actually want ....

Thank for helping a noobie Jim. My product is "The Ring Disc an Interactive Guide to Wagner's Ring Cycle". I am the producer, author, and copyright holder. Find it easily on amazon (couldn't post the link).

Searching "Wagner Ring" gets 25 mil results, but no ads on the right side of the page. Of course "men's sneakers" get a bijillion ads. Is no one competing for the "Wagner" real estate on google? Am I missing something here?

Thanks, Monte

Yes you are.

Richard Wagner isn't the only famous Wagner. Why would ANYONE waste their budget on such a generic word or name.

A: Being specific with PPC terms gets better conversion rates.

B: "Low balling" words and phrases might make for cheap bids but it will probably cost you a lot more in wasted clicks.

The conversion rate is important.......
Perhaps a more targeted key phrase will produce better results.....
