Why does google allow adwords to frequently go over budget? With four hours left in the day and over budget, it continues to serve ads to my site.

I can understand a few clicks above, but not for several hours.

This is because Google has many servers and the ads being served from one server may not be in sync with others momentarily and you may see the ads depending on your geo location.

Don't worry because I have seen that happen to me as well and it gets adjusted in the invoice.

You mean if your budget was $50 and it went to $55 one day, they will only bill you for $50?

Yes and the link by Chris also says the same.

Google will balance it out, if you don't touch anything, and in 1 month you are over budget, Google should refund the difference.
