My friend had a adwords coupon and he wanted to use it in a new adwords account with another guys name, adress etc. So I gave him my virtual credit card to activate his account. And then I deleted that virtual credit card from my internet banking. My friend also deleted my card and put his own card details. The account is in automatic payment mode.

My question is what if my friend overuses the coupon and make a debt and doesn't pay that debt. So can I be legally responsible for that action ?

And if I'm responsible can I object it and try to show the real owner of that account so they can chase after him not me ?

Well you are an accomplice to fraud whether you think it or not.

I think you didin't understand me. I made my friend a favor and gave my virtual credit card for his account's activation . But I don't want to be responsible for his actions whether it's good or not. I have nothing to do with that account.

I hope you understand me. Because I'm not doing anything.

I understand perfectly, you allowed your card to be used by a third party to facilitate fraudulent use of Google adwords coupons.

It was your credit card that was used, so whether you like it or not, any transactions on that card are your responsibility as they were made with your knowledge.

The only times when you are not responsible for transactions is if you have reported the card lost or stolen BEFORE it is used by a third party without your lnowledge.

That's my friend and I was just talking about possibilities. I know he won't do like not paying his debts but I was curious about the subject so I asked. Anyway thank you for your help.

Yes you would be legally responsible for the debt, and perhaps some serious legal matters. The only thing I could suggest is make sure the debt is paid off or on time, because this would be considered fraud.
