I was just wondering people's experience with adwords vs. facebook ads. I have a business that is targeted towards upwardly mobile people in the Los Angeles area who are mostly 30+

I am completely agree with the all above post that Facebook is very great resource for adverting and this is more cheaper than Google Adword. I have completed many projects on Facebook and Google adword for some projects Facebook works and for some projects Google adword works better but if i want to choose one then Google adword. I am running a campaign for the obesity surgery on Google and Facebook both for many geographic and i found that leads(Contact Detail form) coming from the are not good, we follow the people most of them are not interested but the CPA was very less at the other hand from the Google we got the similar leads with a great quality we follow them and about 80% people are interested but CPA was bit higher than Facebook. So in Facebook its also depend on the project that what you are going to advertise but in Google you can get the better results for any kind of projects.
