Adwords what do you need to bid ?

Hi Guys
We are a small company with a unique low cost product that we want to well world wide.
What would you say is the click rate we should bid ?
Our Google Keywords tools say about 50 cents.
But to me this is far too much for us to pay.
In today's world with millions of websites, and only a certain amount of words it seems that Adwords is becoming unviable for companies such as ours if large companies are willing to pay 50 cents just for a click !

yeah, and there are $2 keywords too, it depends a lot on the product and targeting.

If you can't afford to pay high bids for your products better do search engine optimization in your site.

Yeah, there are also adword campaigns getting hosed and having to shell out $6 for some keywords. I would say build back links like a mad man, create your landing page with keyword rich content, add a blog to your site and post blogs on a weekly basis.
