Please can anybody suggest how I can measure how many visotors come to a site as a result of my Adwords campaign - I eventually want to know how many people buy as a result of their visits via Adwords. I cannot think of a way at the moment except to look at percentages and that doesn't seem to tell me much. I'm sure there is much more that can be done that I don't know about.

All help much appreciated.

Use your site logs to track the visits or install some analytics software.

I'm just a little puzzled as to why you would start an adwords campaign without any means of measuring the ROI.

I'm using Google analytics to analyze that, You will be able to find under the content section all analytics regarding Ad words(Paid Search)
