I am banging my head against the wall.

I have like 150 different keywords which are always fairly specific sets (i.e. 2 or 3 words together).
I pay big bugs for them, like 3 $ per click.

At the same time, I run on server log, one 3rd party hitcounter and doogle*******.
Also, my URL has a specific tag so I can trace clickthrough.

Normal activity show that aprox. 90% of clicks are reported correctly on adwords and my stats.
I do not run adsense content, only adwords on google search.

I decided to add 3 very general search terms (one word and two words) and I put the max CPC very low.

After 24 hours I realised several hundred clicks for those adwords on google stats, but on my stats and my 3rd party stats and doogle*** only 1 or 2 clicksthrough for them.

I have mentioned this to Google support but only received a reply saying: they looked at my account from period x to y (stating 2 months) .... even though I queries stats for 1 or 2 specific days.
They said that others also experienced many clicks for those keywords and that it was normal and then continue to explain google contents stuff (even though I am not on contents search partners).

Has someone else experienced this?
Has someone else tried to use very generic keywords, and is placed on the x-th place which normally no human would scroll to .... and get clicks on google stats which don´t show up on your own?

Or is there something that I totally misunderstand?

hope this isn't patronizing, since u said u follow your server logs which means u r probably watching REEEAL closely

but here's my theory - did you definitely get 200 IPs? or could it be 2 or 3 bots or some rubbish that by chance google didn't spot on its furst run?

if that theory were to hold water it would depend on your having been charged this in say, the last day or two or less rather than last month?

google has often charged me 100s of pounds and given me huge chunks of money back the next month, recrediting clicks which they should not have charged for

if my theory (or something else which exonerates google) does not hold water

then what you are saying has the capacity to destroy the fabric of time and space for me

i have a lot of problems with google, but tracking-ability isn't one of them

to me they are better than the Mounty - they know more about what i do online than i know myself, at times.

Exactly, that´s what I thought, since the keyword that got most "clicks" would likely have been some bot and rubbish.
That´s why I was so surprised by their unqualified reply which was totally off the point.
Their "support" wrote back that they "revised" click activity for a 2-month period if I mention a 2-day period, giving exact dates.
Especially since that day generated a xxx euro charge which isn´t precisely too little - for just one day. And mentioning all that off-topic stuff like "adsense" even though I don´t advertise on the network seems naff at best.
I have gotten 2 invoices since then, but no credits so far.

are you sure they don't just want information?

2 invoices. so 2 months. don't lose your other logs. i'd get them all together and resend it to google. adwords can also EASILY be hunted down by phone (any time i really want, i manage to get an adwords employee to assist me in solving any issue on adwords where i worry they've nicked my dosh or accidentally lost it briefly... i've sometimes had only that resort as a way to get my dosh. but they are great people - they do have inbound phonelines which are manned by real humans, in the west, with brains, who understand reason and are decent people individually and work WITH you - if all else fails, hunt down a phone number. i've done years of telesales in my life, so i'm good at number hunting. if you can't find one after a few weeks of hunting maybe i can be persuaded to find one for you)

adsense... that's a different matter. no inbound communication.

i think you should get all your info and show it to them fully - is it possible your server had downtime and you didn't notice?
