thank you. i understand that now. well, to check if the keyword is working, i have typed that it in google and the ad comes up. but then, the count on the impr column does not increase. it is still 0. when will it increase?

the keyword that i searched for is "drilling data analysis" and the ad is shown.

im a bit confused on how the ad variations are displayed on the google search. Firstly, I have 2 campaigns running on adwords. Campaign 1 has 13 variations and 28 keywords. How does google knows which keyword is matched with which variation?

Google can display any ad variation that you have in the same adgroup as the keyword.

Do you have all your keywords in one adgroup?

No. I have 4 different campaigns and each one i have about 15 ad variations and 20 to 25 keywords. I was just wondering how google selects the appropriate ad variations for the keyword that the user has entered. Is there a calculation or something?

Yes there is a calculation to determine if they're going to show and if so, then what position they're going to put it in.

thank you for the help. now i have another question. yesterday when i check my google account, i "1" under the "Clicks" against a certain keyword column. Does that mean someone has clicked on the keyword or the ad variation?

Also will i be able to know exactly when (maybe time and date) someone has clicked?

Thanks.

they clicked on your ad variation after searching that keyword.

As for the time and date of a click, I don't think you can.

You can try changing the date range - that way you can find out the date of that click. Of course, it would be better to use Analytics
