My husband and I recently started a new advertising business for our local area. It's a For Sale By Owner site so I'm having to compete with a ton of national sites for placement in regular google listings and I've started to get discouraged. I'm not even in the first 15 pages when you search mississippi for sale by owner. I started thinking about doing a sponsored ad so that at least I can tell my customers that I'm on the first page and buy my position.

Does anyone have suggestions, horror stories or any other information that might help me decide whether or not to do the Google sponsored ad on the right side?
