What is the best amount to pay per click. I set a really low number and I haven't even gotten 1 ad impression yet and I started days over a week ago.

The amount you need to pay per click varies from keyword to keyword and how high you want to be in the rankings.

Double check on adwords to make sure that you've not set your bid too low. If it's too low then Google will not display it at all - but will show you a warning message on your campaign page with a recommended bid amount.

Hey it's osagie irowa here and based on my many years using Google Adwords PPC, it really depends on your target market. Try to stay away from single keywords and focus on "keyphrases".

Are you trying to attract customers from around the world, or in a specific region? Messing around with a Google Adword campaign will drain your bank account. You can lose as much as $100 within 10 minutes if your pay-per-click campaign is set to "all countries".
Also, if your product is low margin, then I wouldn't pay more than 25 cents per click, and stay away from "parked pages". , regards osagie irowa.

You're obviously in way over your head. You can't just jump into a program like Adwords without first doing some research. You need to read-up as much as you possibly can before you waste your money making the same mistakes that so many newbies fall victim to. Just by reading your question, I can tell you've got no idea what you're doing. How can you ask a question like "What's the best amount to pay per click" and expect a simple answer? There are so many factors involved in such an answer, it would blow your mind. At least you came to the right place. This forum has many helpful threads and I'm glad to see you here. It's a start, but you've got a lot to learn. Whatever you do, don't give up. The only way to fail is to give up. In a year from now, you could be making thousands of dollars each and every week.

Hi,
Adwords and pay per click programs are not to be undertaken lightly. Or you could find you are out of pocket pretty quickly.

You really need to do some home work before venturing into PPC and be prepared to lose some money during the learning curve.

There are other factors that affect your click through rate apart from your bid amount. Your ad content, how you word and structure it have a great effect on CTR.

Also you need to test your ads. ie have two variations of the ad running and see which one pulls traffic. Then change the weaker ad and keep monitoring your results and editing your ads as required

Good luck
