Are you allowed to use banners only?

Can you change "text_image" on the adsense code to just "image", in doing so ensuring that only banners and not text links appear, or is that against the ToS?

Why not? It is allowed to display image only ads.

i use image only adds at many palces on my flash games sites !!!! and its doing better then text images !!!

You are right, image ads in certain sites may perform better. I choose to display image ads in my forum site, and it outperforms text ad.

You can add image ads by selecting image ads only and iam using it same you wont have any problem and image ads gets more clicks then text ads
