Its a good question - think about it, not only does google not allow you to disclose information about your adsense account, like Clicks, Page CTR and eCPM, they also won't tell you what revenue they share with you. So why?, well its a licence to rip you off that why, by hiding the information they stop you comparing with other people and knowing if you are getting a fair deal.
Knowlege is power and for all we know every cent google give us for our clicks could net them 50 cents or more. Having seen all my numbers stay the same but revenue drop to less than half, whats the answer - smartpricing, so my clicks are worth less than before, but is the advertser paying less, well only google know and they aren't telling - something to hide maybe.
IMO google is turning into the new microsoft - don't be evil - try don't be dishonest and sneaky google
How can they tell how much the clicks are worth anyway (the theory behind smartpricing) where do they get the info from - google analytics maybe, but how many companies implement it fully, do they want google to know how much they make, when I implemented it I didn't bother with the revenue part - I didn't have the data as all my 'sales' are subject to conversion and possible cancelations - but from google data it would seem like click throughs to my site make no money. There are other factors, not everyone buys first visit, but they come back later maybe and then may even become a regular customer, mabe spending 1000's over the course of a year - all from one click - or maybe not - how do google know, or is it an excuse to drop your adsense revenue and keep more for themselves - only google know - and they ain't saying
