I think you can. Though you should email google and ask them if it doesn't say anything about it in thier ToS.

It is allowed to have two sets of adsense code with different Client's ID to be displayed on the same page.

I have already asked them and you cannot. They even pointed me to some TOS areas also but I dont have the copy of the email.

could we apply a little common sense here by simply looking around?

This forum runs an Adsense Revenue Sharing system, where you put your adsense ID in your profile, then if the ads are clicked and your ID is in that adsense code your account gets credited with the payment for the click.

But here we dont (or should not) display the ads on a page from more than one account.
