There are many people who claim to earn a lot of money using Adsense, while the majority of people still earning 10-20 cents a day (or less than that). Does Adsense really pay off in your case? Do you earn well or are you already considering trying another revenue program?

All earnings are going to be related to traffic no matter what revenue generating method you use. I would guess if someone only makes 20 cents from adsense a day they would find it hard to make any more money regrdless what way they generate revenue.

A mix of adsense and referal programs works for me.

If you have more traffic and high CTR, you can earn more than a dollar a day.

I have some decent earnings, and they have been pretty consistent over time, so it has been good for me. I have learned over time that google will only pay so much, but I will stay with them as long as they pay decent.

We're just in the process of experimenting with an adwords campaign. Early signs are good, significant increase in adsense $6/$7 a day. Beginners luck?

I agree with stOx, all earnings are going to be related to traffic no matter what revenue generating method you use. My site it only about 3 months old and it is earning better than $10.00 a day. I have quality traffic (over 2000 uniques a day) and a decent CTR , about 1.22%. My site is growing fast. I'm at the point now where I am looking to find ways of saving band width. I estimate that with in 3-4 months my site will go over the alloted bandwidth usage for the month. But , to get back on topic, find ways of promoting your site. If your content is good, and you are providing a decent service. People will come back and those people will tell others. Keep them happy, provide ways for them to contact you and tell you what they would like to see, like a contact/feedback form or something along those lines. As far as ad placement and stuff like that, well im no expert, but I think that color scheme should match your site and I think that If you place your ad in such a way as to trick them to click , people hate that and will avoid your site like the plague. Adsense is being good to me , so I will stay with them. Thanks.

It has been increasingly difficult nowadays to make some serious money with adsense. Google pays less for clicks.
It also depends on your niche. Some websites such as gaming websites or myspace related websites are not worth it with adsense. You'll be lucky to get a penny per click on such websites.
There are other high-paying niches where you can get more per click, that's if you can break in into these niches.

Making money using Adsense is about 3 major factors:
1. Traffic.
Promotion can get you more of this.

2. The look of your ad & its content.
You should read Google's guide about how to optimize your ads.

3. The type of your website.
There's nothing you can do about this.

I only made $26 dollars last year with adsense but I am hoping my new site will change that, I have never had anything form any other affiliate program

Well, it's basically the online time I earn money on my forum, so yes it's worth it. I don't earn much but it helps a bit.

1. traffic
2. traffic
3. traffic

if you have no traffic , nobody will see or click your ads.

I would conclude that Adsense is not a good way for making income, isn't it?

It's not a good way to make money if you have a rubbish site that nobody goes to, But then what would be a good way to make money if you have no visitors? There isn't one.

If you have a site that generates a decent amount of traffic then adsense is perfect.
