I run a website that was launched 2 weeks. Up until wednesday i was making on average $5/day but then after wednesday it dropped to around $2/day.

We have had an equal amount of impressions and an equal amount of clicks as we did last week. Why since friday have the earnings been this bad?

There could be a lot of reasons. You're probably getting different ads than you first were as it usually takes a couple of weeks for Google to decide what your site is really about.

The bids on the ads could have gone down. If you placed more ads on the page some will naturally return less per click so the more you ad the less the overall price for each will be.

AdSense can vary though from day to day. You can't really tell much from just looking at a few days. It could have just been a bad few days and will pick back up again.

I think you need to see what happens over a longer period of time though to know what's really going to be average

Adsense is based on publisher bids. Frequently, publishers start and stop campaigns.
For example, if I run a holloween site, it makes sense that during the month of October, lots of advertisers are competing for holloween related keywords. But during June? I doubt there are too many advertisers fighting over those keywords then.
Adsense is just up's and down's, all based on supply and demand.

The difference between $5/day and $2/day isn't enough to indicate any kind of trend. That is just normal day-to-day variation. There are a hundred different possible explanations for such small changes.

If the change was from $500/day to $200/day, that would be something to be concerned about.

Agreed with all of you. Some times we get lots of vistors, but very small amout of $, and some times otherway round.
