Hi,

i have to redirect page from index.html to index.php and the main site is located at index.php so it contains adsense ads .. i am worried if this is allowed by google as they have mentioned in thier TOS that the page containing adsense ads shouldnt be opened by script...

please help me regarding this..

You don't need to use a script to redirect a page. You want to set up a 301 redirect. Assuming your server is apache you would do this using mod_rewrite and .htaccess. Here's a link from SEOmoz explaing the 301 redirect with mod_rewrite.

Your hosting account may have it built in so you don't need to mess with the .htaccess file yourself, but it's relatively easy.

Sorry about that. With a windows server nothing in the link I posted will work. I don't work with Windows servers myself, but I did find this page on setting up 301 redirects for Windows servers which seems to offer what you need. Hopefully it will help.

Like I said though I'm not a Windows server person so I probably can't help with any specifics, but I know there are others here that do work with them so many one of them will chime in and be able to offer more advice on specifics.

you should not redirect from index.htm to index.php as at some point you may end up with the same problem. You should redirect to the root url or the folder name and let the server handle the default page name.

thanks.. my problem is solved .... actually my webhost provider was not available for many days so thought to i ask webmasters... Now my problem is solved..
