Probably not for your topic, but there are a few where $10 clicks wouldn't be uncommon.

Even if there maybe a expensive keywords, google always loots almost more than half of the money. Thats how they get rich. And, this is why google pays real extra attention on adsense as there is a lotta money flowing through the system and they dont want anyoen to steal a cent outta their income.

Glenn I do think there are $10 clicks. I just don't think you'll find them for a music site. I thought that's what you meant. If you're thinking of developing a site around high paying keywords then yes there are definitely topics that get $10 per click.

You are 100.10% Right astrojith. AdSense is Google's "Dead Man's Chest". Google could make money off of this system alone. They are definitely monitoring it. Think about it: Google's Big Brother System.

Is there a reason Google shouldn't take most of the money? They are doing most of the work. The system doesn't happen without them you know.
We're complaining as AdSense publishers because Google doesn't give us enough. They could give us nothing. A small cut or not it's still nice to be able to drop some code into your site and be able to collect money without actually selling a useful product or service.

The high paying keywords list is not always correct for publisher network. People pay that much for ads on google search results page. For publisher networks, the bids are much lower and also google takes a cut.
Me too heard about few $10 clicks, but they are very rare. 2$-3$ clicks are common though.

seeing $1-2 clicks is somewhat common for me, but I have an over abundance of the $.1-.2 clicks.
My suggestion would be not to just build a site around your favorite topic (as you'll get burnt out on adsense if that's your goal and it pays low) and don't just build your site around high paying adsense terms. Look for a combination of the two. When optimizing for specific words I aim for keywords that charge in the $1-5 range. Then I know my clicks should be worth $.5-$2/click. That's pretty good payout IMO.

I agree with Dustin that it's best to build the site around the topic you want to cover. Chasing after what a click pays might seem attractive, but it's going to be harder to create content for that site if you're not interested in the topic.

Inusrance is one of those topics with higher clicks. I still believe in building a site based around something you know or want to know more about, but those are nice payouts.

I agree. If you try to build a site about something you don't have a real passion about, keeping the site going is more like real work. If you have a passion for a topic, you'll stick with it even when you're not making much money. But if a site is just work, you'll drop it soon after you start.

I noticed that my pay-per-click increased as traffic increased. I credit the increase to a higher payout from google to me rather then the bidders going higher.
Has anyone else noticed that google is more willing to share if you do a better job on your end in getting them the clicks?
