I have noticed twice today, On seperate sites (one being my blog), that google adsense is now sometimes giving users the option to select what adverts are displays by clicking a link. When the user clicks an advert topic, the adverts in the ad unit change, It also has a search box integrated in the the ad unit.

This seems really new, and i like it, it's a good idea.. It's likely to get your users "involved" in your adverts are more able to find an advert they like, and as suchh are more likely to click your adsense.

Like i say, I have only seen it today, and only twice.. Anyone else had experince with this?

I did see this being disussed somewhere else a couple weeks back I think, but I can't remember where I think it was either at problogger or seobook, but I'm not finding it at the moment.

it seems like a good idea to me. I can't really see how it will hurt in any way. Making the ads interactive can only help in my opinion. My guess is most people will still just ignore the ads like they always do, but if anyone does use them it's probably going to increase CTR somewhat. Of course it will also change the price for the click which could either be good or bad.

I wish there were some tracking that could allow a publisher to see what thier visitors are doing with the adblocks.

Those are handy, But i mean to let me see if my visitors have been changing the adverts displayd and what i have earned from clicks that result from a visitor changing the adverts.

no i don't know.. but that kind of ads are rare.. so i guess tracking software is also rare..
