Designing the website based on supported banner. I cant understand this. All standard banner size is supported by adsense.

It also give u a rough idea which ad type works better.

You'll find most of the banner sizes are standard,

you should be able to select from the different types to find one that fits your needs.

None of the types works better. One of them MAY work better than others within a certain page layout, but the same ad type may work worse than others with another page layout and color scheme. It's all too indvidual and you need to experiment a lot to find the best type of banner and best place for it on your pages.

When you choose your banner, you need to match the banner with the site design. The link color should match the rest of the sites link color, the text should match the site text color and eliminate the header color in the banners. That screams - ADS.

It's amazing to me to see how many people continue to just put up the standard mix of colors and their site links are brown and the page background is light yellow. Their adsense ads stand out and scream - I'm a Banner Ad.

I agree. I think the ad colors do need to at the least work well with the color scheme of your site. With the ad types I do see that some ad types perform better on my site than others, but it's probably different for different sites.

The best approach is to use a variety and set the up in different locations and them make sure to measure the results by setting up channels through the AdSense interface. That should give you a better idea of what works better.
