if you look at http://www.frodop.com/coffee/23234.php the google adsense block is on the left , is there a way of making "ads by google" and "advertise on this site" either disappear or appear at the bottom of the ad?

You can remove the 'advertise on this site' by logging in to AdSense. I forget exactly where it is (I think it's in your main settings), but you just need to opt out of that program. It was a day after I opted out that I saw the text gone from my ads.

I think you're going to have to live with the 'ads by google' since Google wants the ads to maintain a certain consistency online. I think some businesses are allowed to change it, but only if they bring in enough revenue through the clicks. It is Goolge's ad though so they do have a right to advertise themselves while paying all of us publishers.

I'm not sure about getting it to appear at the bottom of the ads. They actually show that in some of the previews for the ads so maybe there's a way.

There are some things you cannot control unless you have tie up with google. A simple example is Alexa uses Google search in totally customizable way but we cant do that for our website.
