Hi all...

Google Adlink is the new 'thing', hope many of you have already seen it. (If not, please log on to your Google Adsense account and you'll find the notification).

Has anyone started using this on the website? I have added it, and it seems that it will generate some more $$$.

Let's have views about Adlink...

Cheers!

I've just set Adlink up today on my site ( filehigh ).

My first impressions are that it may generate a few pennies to start with as it is new and noone has seen it before (always a good ploy for a few inquisitive clicks), but will not do me much good overall. I think this is mainly true due to the big sticky-outy `Ad Links by Google' at the top of it. Also, once seasoned web users get to know what it is, I feel that a link to a search results page is less likely to get a click than to a relevant standard google ad.

Does anyone know if there is a way to see which clicks have come from the Adlinks? Google doesn't really make it clear whether they will come under ads or search. Guess I could just add a channel, but that would be too easy.

thevirus - If you want to know what it is google tells us (a little) here -> Google Adlinks . Or else you can see them in action on my site ( filehigh ) - Left hand column, can't miss them due to what I mentioned above.

Could you setup a channel just for the adlinks? That way the data could be pulled and you could see the performance of just them vs the other ads.

I have not tried them yet myself. My ad space is also a bit limited so I may not add them at all, but the idea is interesting.

I added it to one of my sites... so far, the clicks on it have averaged 7 cents. I've added it to this page:

Also, I think if it's going to be popular long-term, I think Google needs to let us customize their landing page.

I haven't integrated this feature into any of my sites yet, but I probably will in the near future.

I completely agree that Google should allow publishers to customize the search results. It would make AdLinks a much more power tool for publishers.
