Hello,

I'm new to this stuff. I see that some sites do not use meta keywords in their sources but yet they manage to get relevant google ads on their pages. If I don't put any keywords in the meta tag, what happens?

Here's an example site that I don't see meta keywords.

Thank you.

From my understanding, I'm pretty sure google scans all the content of the page and then scans it for keywords.
I don't think they use meta tags at all.

That's my understanding as well. But then I don't understand the deal about high paying keywords stuff.

Here's another site that doesn't use keywords yet get relevant ads.

Well, once again, keywords have nothing to do with adsense.
All google is doing is scanning the page looking at all the words. Then it goes into it's complex algorithm, and selects words which advertisers have chosen to list their company under. It then displays them.
And thats it.

The keywords are necessary for inclusion in the search engine. I think when adsense first started their was the assumption that the spiders were the same for the search engine and adsense. They are actually different so like people have said, adsense has nothing to do with the search engine listings, and vise-versa.
