anyone have any thoughts or experience w/ owning .info domains? I cannot imagine it matters really with search and adsense success or failure. Just looking for another perspective or confirmation.

I highly recommend you to use respected domain extensions like .com and .org

Most of the .info sites I encounter are spam.

That's because they are relatively cheap to register, and have no restrictions on registration requirements so all the MFA muppets can buy them and infilct their garbage on the rest of us.

Maybe that's why.

.info extensions are not recommendable. You must go for the most respected domain extensions to gain credits to your readers.

You should probably credit your visitors with a little more intelligence. It's not the TLD that impresses your readers, it's - guess what? What they read.

Pick any TLD you want but for G's sake, put something good on it.

You have a great view. It's more about what the readers read. But domain extensions can be a good credit.

How????

I spend a lot of my day reading various pages on many subjects on the Internet and have done for 6 or 7 years.
I don't even look at what the TLD is when I make judgment on a page (or the content thereof).

Have you never heard of a logical fallacy as demonstrated by "This cat is black, therefore all cats are black"?
It is easily proven that not all cats are black so the premise is fundamentally flawed. The same is true of "This crap site is a .info, therefore all .info sites must be crap.

By accepting such errors as truth you leave yourself open to all the ludicrous and false (mis)information that abounds. Especially about search engine promotion topics.
