Google Ads are put on your site based on your content. Therefore you cannot have movies adwords on your site if the content is about oranges. You can however restrict certain "competitor" or unwanted sites from showing in your adsense configuration.

Like spotless said, google will display ads accordingly to what they have indexed about your site, get/copy the url's of the sites you want to filter and look for "Competitive Ad Filter" on your Adsense account then paste the urls.

If you just recently added an adsense code on your site or blog, usually it displays google ads which are not related to your site or blog's theme. But later on, it will automatically display related ads on it.. So you don't need to worry about that..

you can get rid of adsense, join an affiliate network and choose ALL the ads yourself - if you can unscramble this into a word first and then avoid being it.... zlya

wishbone is right but if your site is new or you have just started placing ads wait for week or two then filter the websites
