I have finally got to where my sites generate some nice traffic and I would like to be able to not allow ads under a certain dollar amount to display on my sites.

Is this possible?

did you agree a minimum rate for renting out bits of your site to Google Adwords?

sometimes you get really good tenants, mostly you don't.

You'll find that most adsense sites have the same pattern of earning. A lot of low amount clicks and then a large one. If you are really concerned you could try to identify which ads are generating the low clicks and filter them our. Problem is they could be replaced by even cheaper ads. Also the same ad could generate .10 one day and $2 the next. Some people claim it is about smart pricing ie depending on whether the person clicking takes action at the merchants site.

Yes, filtering ads can be useful. Because some even pay $.01! If you determine the low-paying ones, then you can filter them out.

Can try and filter out some of the low paying ads if you can identify them , but its pretty common for there to be various paying ad's on site per day etc depending on your niche , its usually somewhat of a rollercoaster.

The thing is it IS actually easy to work out what words trigger expensive ads and then fabricate pages which trigger expensive ads. It really is. Not that I shall tell you - that'll ruin everything for you. Because that kind of behaviour leads to getting banned by google. You've got to take the fat with the thin, lad.

I'd make pages which triggered really good ads and i didn't have to change the words on the page, or anything. I just changed the name of the url - eg pineapple_stew.html could be a page about certain pineapple recipes for stew or something - and of course the high paying words I'm talking about are NOT pineapple stew. No indeed. I'll keep those a wee secret, eh? But you can. You can throttle google and make it spit out gold. But after a while you realise that you're trying to bully the largest company in the known world (or something) and that this is f****** stupid. Would you tell Mike Tyson his mother is a fat ugly whore? It's a bit like doing that - trying to take more than google gives you.

hmm, witness the day, i'd love to hack those high-pay keywords. But as you said, no one's going to bully Google. It will be our loss, not theirs.

Threadstarter. Try GAN - the Google Affiliate Network. Google will still pay you for the hits, but only the hits which make money. You get a much bigger share. It means each event you are paid for is indeed 2 to 4 dollars, sometimes higher. You are not paid "per click" any more, though. Only per sale. But it means you can pick the ads you want and only advertise things which pay a lot of dollars per sale, and choose things which would sell well on your page. It is by far the most profitable internet way to make money from advertising other people's stuff.

Thanks for the tips. I'm happy just making any money at this point. But that explains why some days I make a lot and other days I make just a few cents. I'll have to examine what ads do well versus what ones don't.

try filtering out the fishy ads showing on your website..like subdomains, affiliate links and so on..

Try reducing the number of the ads blocks. Put them on upper side of your pages.

You should increase ur traffic 1st, remember more traffic=more money.
