If you are selling anything on your website does it really make sense to have Google Adsense on your site? Let me explain....

In my business we are selling psychic readings. We redeveloped 50+ feeder sites and because we got good rankings on them we thought about putting adsense on them. Well, every adsense ad that came up had "Free Readings" in it. Now common sense will tell you that a surfer will click on anything free rather than something they have to pay for. The loss of sales revenue would not be made up by the adsense revenue.

I have seen so many websites selling a variety of things that have the adsense that contains something free.

Has anyone else given this much thought?

Retail sites with adsense always scare me.. It makes me wonder if their business is stable enough to trust with my money.. If they were making money with their primary business they wouldn't need the adsense revenue.. It's a huge negative for me..

Setting aside the value and potential issues of building a link farm, you struck the real problem with running adsense on your 'feeder' sites.. It has the very real chance of driving traffic away from your primary revenue source.. Which brings up an interesting opportunity for you..

If you run the adsense on your 'feeder' sites, and it makes more money than you make doing readings, why not just run the primary site as an affialite/adsense site as well?? You can find better revenue sources than adsense and might actually make more money driving traffic to other people than trying convert that traffic yourself..

If you are losing potential clients that click the adsense ads (going to other sites this way), retire the ads

yea just loose the ad, or if not I think you can contact google and tell them that you dont want ads like that displayed on your site
