Hey, I just started (trying) to use adsense recently. I had tried it before but it would take almost 5 months to get a check, but now I'm getting serious about it.
Here's the site.

http://www.ltr450hq.com

As of a few days ago I made a portal on my forum to act as a homepage so I could use more ads without disrupting the forum experience having ads everywhere on the forum.

Right now ads display

-Under the "sponsors" box on every website page, (link units).
-On the homepage all the way to the right.(sky ad)
-Also after every post made a googlebot posts ads. (box ad, only GUESTS can see this ad.)

And that's all I have so far, if anyone can give me some better recommendations on ad placement, or tools I can use, that would be great. I would like to get publishers to advertise, I have opened up the channels to them, but I'm not sure if they will come.

Yesterday I got about 12 clicks, with over 7,000 impressions in one day. Today I have 2 so far with close to 7,000 impressions. I'm pretty sure it should be doing a lot better than this.

the sponsors ads look fine, but i dont no hoiw well them links pay.

but the ads on your home page might not do well, if you have them on the side the best side is the left, plus as it is your home page you might not get a lot of people viewing them as the forum is what they came for.

the ads in the topics (for me) show Laser Eye Surgery, no matter what topic i go on, they will reduce the click rate.

good luck

For some reason it's getting content from "invision power board" and thinks to put vision ads. I'm not sure how to fix that because invision hides its text so good so you can't try and take it out.

Also the link ads do good for some reason. I will try putting the long banner on the left instead of the right, I read somewhere that more people clicked ads that were on the right side of the page though.

i find its best just to try a couple different ad placement angles , use one placement for a week or so and then change it up. its a little bit of work but gives you an idea of what is getting a little more action for your particular site.
