The adsense policies did NOT allow other context sensitive ads to run on the same page as Adsense.
Meaning that ad systems that examine the page content to get the type of ads to display are NOT allowed.
The Adbrite system does not read the page content to determine what ads to show. It shows ads based on the zone(s) selected by the publisher, and as such would be acceptable under the Adsense TOS.
NOW just to confuse you even more, that is no longer in the adsense policies. What it says now is:
Quote:
Competitive Ads and Services
In order to prevent user confusion, we do not permit Google ads or search boxes to be published on websites that also contain other ads or services formatted to use the same layout and colors as the Google ads or search boxes on that site. Although you may sell ads directly on your site, it is your responsibility to ensure these ads cannot be confused with Google ads.
