I recently introduced adsense on my forum which has increased the page impressions, as an example in the last 7 days I've had 1386 page impressions but 0 clicks. When the ads did not used to be on the forum I generally made $1 per 7 days. I dont think the ads are that relevant to the forum which is where I've gone wrong I think but how do I tell the google adsense bot I want ads relating to youtube and video ripping etc?

I'm not sure where you went wrong, but something doesn't sound right in what you're describing. AdSense shouldn't be increasing your page impressions. I'm not sure how that's happening. If anything I would think ads would decrease page impressions.

As far as the relevance of the ads go you do have to give them a little time. Google does a pretty good job of serving relevant ads, but you have to give them time to understand your site.

You can't specifically tell Google what ads to show. What you can do is make sure your site is about YouTube and video ripping. If it is then in time Google will start delivering ads about both, assuming of course that people are actually bidding on the topic.

I just thought could it be all the bots visiting my forum which is increasing the page impressions and not giving me any clicks?

Bearing in mind the forum / solgan is

vidripscript / video ripping at its best

I get google ads for lexmark, gaydar, and scriptwriting - I do get convert video ads etc I'm just wondering why I put ads on more pages and its had a reverse effect.

Google shouldn't be counting the robotic traffic in the impression count, but it is possible.

I think some of this is you've only recently placed the ads. It takes a little time for AdSense to understand what your site is about in order to deliver relevant ads.

I just clicked through a few of the page son your forum and the ads I saw mostly looked relevant to your site. I did see one add for nutrition, but it was the exception and not the rule. The majority of ads were relevant.

I can't tell you why you didn't get any clicks, but I can say you probably haven't given enough time for any of the numbers you see to be statistically significant. You may simply need to give it more time and see what happens.

It's possible that while you were making $1 a day most of that money was coming from a small group of people. I don't know how many clicks it took to make $1, but I would guess it wasn't a lot. It's possible the few people clicking have stopped visiting your site for some reason. The timing could be coincidence or maybe some people were turned off by seeing more ads.

There could be a lot of reasons why you're not getting clicks all of a sudden. The only connection I can think with using ads on your forum is that the ads weren't relevant. They look relevant to me now though.

If you think adding AdSense to the forums was a mistake remove them and see what happens. Add them again and see if the clicks drop again. You have to leave the ads up or down long enough to really test them though.

First, use competitive ad filter to remove oddball keywords and automated results that just plug in your keyword. These usually are irrelevant and low paying. Second, add your keywords more through out your page. I am not sure how much you have them already, but density is an issue. Be careful though not to try anything tricky like invisible text keyword stuffing and such.
