Multi colored/random colored Adsense ads?

I remember years ago I stumbled across someone making their adsense show random colors on each page load. In fact I did it for a while myself.

I believe all you have to do is add 2 colors to any line item you want to alternate.

Anyone know if A) this is still legal, and B) the proper format?

Here is an example of some code you could use:
google_color_border = ["628098","628098","000000","000000"];
google_color_link = ["000000","BBB90C","BBB90C","628098"];
google_color_url = ["000000","628098","000000","000000"];
google_color_text = ["628098","628098","000000","000000"];

As for the legality of it, I'm not sure either. I know that it was used to reduce ad blindness on sites like forums and message boards. I have not found anything in the Adsense policies concerning this though.

isn't it against the TOS to modify the code in any way? (or has that changed?)

You can't modify the code, but if Google was the ones that allowed you to do it then it's fine. I guess you could also put the ads in a rand script that will show different ad codes on each page load so you will then have different color ads shown.

Digitalpoint has been doing this for years now. I think they need to with the top ad as it is well out of the way and some people don't even realise it's there. lol

Google picks on the little people though, that's why DigitalPoint does it, they're not little.
