I'm about to launch a social networking site...i've got some seed money and a good idea and a large niche market w/ a demonstrated market need. That said, I'm killing myself trying to develop realistic projections. I'm ok with my registered user projections, but translating that into page views per day/month, etc. to monetize, and how much that monetization will be using AdSense is driving me crazy. I look at Facebook membership numbers and their projected revenue of $150M this year, MySpace at $30m in ad rev per month on 100m+ users.... Alexa and other metric sites are not helping!!!
Could I make an assumption of, say, 10 pageviews daily per registered user?
How about $.30 CPM revenue?
Is this crazy or in the ballpark? Thanks in advance for any insight.
