Hi,

I have a simple yet funny question to ask...
We all read about "Adsense is dead", "Adsense is alive" stuff, but do you put adsense in your website if you are selling something?

Let say you have a web that sell something.
Placing adsense or anything similar could earn you some profit, but at the same time your competitor can get your customers out of your website.

I'm thinking to bring in some lead by advertise at my competitor's web. So i think they might do the same.

Sorry if my question sound stupid.

If I go to a merchant site and see AdSense, I automatically think they aren't serious about selling their products or services and would be much less likely to buy from them.

By all means, advertise your site on your competitor's sites through AdSense, but I would stay away from it if the primary purpose of your site is to sell your own stuff as (at least to me) it hurts your credibility.

I agree...if you're a business selling stuff you shouldn't have ads on your website. Ads is for sites providing free stuff.

For your competitor you can stop their ads from your website it's not a problem.
- but adsense can be another way to resolve your visiotrs problem and they will bookmarks you website such as their source of information . This is work very well if you have a very specific webpage content

it all depends on how you're trying to make money with your website. for example, if you're trying to sell any kind of products, services, etc. from your site then I probably wouldn't put adsense on the site. and if I did it would probably be at the very bottom of the page since they're likely to leave the site anyway and you might as well try to get something from their visit.

If you believe that you will earn much more money by spending products than from placing adsense ads, then you should do better by not placing adsense ads but if you can not earn much more than adsense, you may try adding adsense ads especially if you do not have competitors..

In Adsense ... you can block your competitors... i.e. NOT to display their ads at your website.

Adsense is still alive for ME...

I think what is really DEAD.. is to make money form Adsense by launching punch of machine-generated websites without real contents... THIS is really DEAD
