Need tips for better ad targeting

My myspace site is having serious issues displaying myspace related ads, and it can't be that there is a current low in myspace related advertisers because other sites I've checked get the right ads just fine. It seems like adsense has taken a liking to the word "generators" and I get a lot of ads for electrical and diesel generators.

Anyone got any tips? URL in sig, thanks.

Still have to surf through many pages before I see any myspace related ads on the site... and my CTR does seem to reflect it since it is much lower than what seems to be average on myspace sites.

It's only the link unit that is getting myspace related stuff.

Most of the ads on the main page are Myspace related for me.

Just a suggestion, but why not rename them...call them something that Google is less likely to pick up or call it something myspace related. Pretty much all the ads on your site seem to be relating to myspace with the exception of the ones on the generators pages.

Trying to lower the number of times the word "generator" occur in general on the site.

Just strange that I don't see this happening on other myspace sites I look at, they all display only related ads, and of course they've got twice or three times my CTR too.

Have you tried using the section targeting code?




I used to get nothing but RSS ads on my celeb site (I had RSS buttons to promote it) until I started using these to force Google to ignore them.

I recently put tags in for a section of text I want to give priority, will see how that works out.

targeting code will work fine

but make sure you are coding it properly.

Targetting made no real difference from what I can see...

My CTR has also dropped to under 1% on the myspace site the past 2 weeks now.
