As a follow up to the Death of Adsense, the results of a survey of adsense publishers has been released.

This makes interesting reading and goes to back up the reasons why the first report was published.

I have spent much to much time going down a path that is hopelessly flawed and will now get back to some common sense.

Build virtual real-estate that has value to the visitor and succeed.

Thanks Scott.

Here's a summary of the report with all the hype taken out.

1. Some people aren't earning as much from adsense as they used too.
2. Perhaps affiliate sites with traffic from adwords will be better.
3. Trouble is how do you know which keywords are converting ?
4. I've invented a term called 'click flipping' which describes a way of sending some extra parameters along with your affiliate link.
5. We now know which keywords convert.
6. Trouble is, it's time consuming.
7. Don't worry ! software is on the way, I'll let you know when you can send me money.

Hi dogisland,

thats a pretty interesting way of getting your adsense pages shown.

What's your experience of adsense the last few months? Is using such obvious but deceptive ways still paying?

It's not intentional, I'm taking a feed from rent-a-coder and sometimes the feed breaks and leaves the pages blank.

I'll look into getting it fixed.

Adsense takes changing with it. People are always complaining bout low payout etc.. usually those are people only depending on adsense if they would diversify they wouldn't feel such an effect.

Adsense is an extremely lazy way to monetize a site. In many cases there are multiple ways to make more money with a normal site with legitimate traffic than adsense.

Adsense has its role and for some placements on some sites it can be the best option. Too many people, though, just thought it was enough to just stick an adsense placement on their site and expected millions of dollars to just roll in.

The whole adsense is dead is simply a marketing scheme to take advantage of people who do not know any better. Don't believe the hype.

All web sites and web pages are not created equal. You could go out tomorrow and with the proper amount of work and knowledge and find thousands of ways to make susbtantial money with adsense on a site. Conversely you could find a lot of pages/sites that bring in only clicks worth a few cents. A lot of it has to do with supply and demand.

Just realize that the demand to reach audiences via websites is never going to be lower going forward than it is now. That means the demand will only continue to grow. So the opportunities will continue to grow. If you limit yourself to just one way to monetize a site, you are likely realizing only a fraction of your potential earnings. Adsense made it real easy for some people to make a decent sum of money with very little actual work. Just realize that anything that earns good sums of money is going to ultimately require some level of work and/or advanced knowledge. There are no free lunches.

This is a good post. especially there are no free lunches and the key is DIVERSIFICATION!! don't stick with one monetizing option!

I agree. Some sites are really hard to monetize manually. Adsense is not the holy grail, but ONE option to make money. Some site topics just pay ridiciolous low amounts of money if using adsense.

Diversification is important imho to avoid a "the sky is falling!!" -like feeling.
