I'm a nOOb in Wordpress. In my homepage,I have a AdSense link in the sidebar only. I want a banner to be placed after the end of the first post (and maybe the second also). Where to place the codes? I mean where in .css do I need to insert.

I want..

Post 1 Title

Post 1 content

--AdSense Banner ---

Post 2 Title

Post 2 content

--AdSense Banner ---

Post 3 Title

etc...

Can anyone help me out?

SEO Portal,
Thanks for the linko,

That was really useful. I got a Ad unit after the comments box. Now I'll get that inside the first comment. Will work on that tomorrow.

By the way, how to get that Ads just after the : XXX Response to “7 AdSense Tips for WordPress”
You got it highlighted as well! How to get that?

How to add the </div> thing for "Place the ad in a floating div" (inside the posts without using plugins). I mean where in .css we need to edit?

And finally I want to know how to get ads in the homepage.. and which .css to edit and where to place exactly..

Thanks for the help!

I really recommend getting the AdSense Deluxe plugin.

And for the other things; remember that CSS is used to determine the layout, not the structure of the site.

the index of your site is the index.php, besides that you have single.php which is used when you click on a posting. Furthermore there is archive.php which is the archives file.
You need to edit those files in order to show adsense on your site between or near the postings.

To place one on top you could just skip all those files and edit header.php (like i did on www.generex.nu/blog/)

I know it would be a lot easier if I get to use the Acme plugin, but there seems to be a problem and whenever I do the changes in the options panel, it says plugin not found. So I'm retorting to such manual .css editing.

I know about the single.php only. I have put in the codes there and I have a little readjustment to do. Instead of the large rectangle after the post, I want to place after :" XX Comments to this post". I need to know where exactly to place that. In your blog entry, you mentioned on the first comment placement only.

Ok, I now I know where to edit for home page. But we can do those only for the start/end of any article. How to add them inbetween the posts and use the <div> floating div thing?

Thanks for the help.

? that's just 2 lines up from where I suggest you put the code..
in comments.php you have a line that reads:
Code:
<h3 id="comments"><?php comments_number('No Responses', 'One Response', '% Responses' );?> to “<?php the_title(); ?>”</h3>
place it there right after..

about the div think; turn of your rich editor (i recommend that anywayz) and just paste the code in the posting while your writing it
