Now that I have a couple sites using AdSense, and since I've discovered how annoying it is to have lots of impressions with very few clicks, I've taken to turning off AdBlock and sometimes clicking one or two ads (but only if I'm somewhat interested) if I like the site. Anyone else do this?

I've had a couple pages on Digg with lots of people viewing them and 1/3-1/2 of the people Dugg them, and I didn't really get any clicks from the Digg crew, which annoys me.

I do it if the site is worthy of a few clicks. I know how it feels to earn very little some days. I want to help others out and hope karma is good to me.

If the site is "worthy" of clicks it will generate revenue on its own

That being said i wouldn't say no to a couple more clicks on some sites.

I only click if the ad is related to something I'm looking for (information or a product, but hardly ever the latter)

It it's something that interest me. I click. If it's nothing of interest, I don't bother clicking.

I didn't mean to imply just blindly clicking ever ad. I meant more that I used to be an AdBlock kind of guy, just disregarding every site's ads. But now I'm more cognizant of the detriment that can cause webmasters, and if I like a site, I will turn off AdBlock, and if I see an ad I'm interested in, I will click it.

I only click on others ads if the ad really interests me...the way adsense was intended.

As far as karma goes, you'll probable break even because of the bad Karma from hurting AdWords users.

Adsense is great content for websites, even if your not interested in making money they are usefull to your visitors by giving relevant links to the topic. I click them if they appear to be what im looking for and the site im on has nothing.

I suppose I phrased it wrong. It does have to be something that interests me. I currently don't use AdWords (yet) so I don't have to worry.

I click the ads only if the site its going to interests me, if not. I generally don't touch them.

Cheers,
Matt.

I went through a phase where I never clicked on them.

Then I realized when I am touring other sites, I am just a normal surfer. If I see an ad that interests me, something I am searching for, then I will click on it.

I never click just to help some one out and I never want you to do that at a site of mine. No dis-respect intended toward anyone who expressed a different opinion on the subject.

Never ever click on other people ads without true interest in the ad. It costs advertiserīs money, and if the advertisers quit Adwords because of that, you can say bye bye to Adsense!!!

I don't think anyone's said he or she does that. And the same deal about Internet applies to ads everywhere. Advertisers spend money knowing that not everyone who watches/listens to/views an ad will send business their way. For example, there are these annoying ads for diamond resellers that have been playing on the radio for months now in my area. They've probably spent $.50 or $1.00 just advertising to me based on the number of times I've heard them, and I'm never going to use their services (at least not for the foreseeable future).
