Does anyone else have the problem that your adsense ads rarely appear, when using Internet Explorer 6+, with Netscape or Firefox, they always work fine? I have tried to contact Google several times, but they never respond.
why would they work fine with netscape and firefox? sometimes they show up with internet explorer and look fine, but most of the time they just dont show up at all.
You misunderstand me, Mickey. I'm saying that the adsense code may not be responsible, but you may be experiencing a glitch with your layout in IE (e.g. a CSS issue).
So which ad blocking extension do you have installed on IE??
Best response, you are either experiencing one of the following....
1) Your running some sort of ad blocking software or IE extention that is blocking adsense ads (You should of mentioned if you could see ads on OTHER sites besides your own!)
2) You have some sort of spyware\adware that is attempting to display another ad in the AdSense unit, this a new common tactic for some spyware, most people never even notice it. If they keep appearing black the ad server its trying to pull from has banned it or is non exisitant.

I have exactly the same problem. I can display the adsense entries from my own website in Firefox; but not in IE7; but IE7 displays adsense items on other peoples' sites OK. I've tried on 2 different PCs - same problem on both.
So, in my case, it's neither blocking nor spyware/adware.
I just answered my own question after browsing some other forum threads. I have Spybot S&D Resident installed - and by default it stops certain javascript displays on IE7 (both the systems I tested this on had S&D Resident installed). If I exit S&D, Adsense items display just fine. Just need to work out which settings to change. Incidentally, also discovered whilst browsing that IE8 (out now in beta) also does this by default (Google are rumoured to be trying to get Microsoft to reverse this, but look unlikely to succeed) so probably not worth bothering with Adsense much more in future (given that 80% of the world uses IE...)
