okay i have asense right and i have channels set up for each site and recetly i also set up the google analytics but i keep noticing clicks and money which arnt in any of my channels and i want to know what site even if its one of mine, its coming from!!!!

it bugging me

so far today this is what i have:

Webmaster-talk 18 impressions 0 clicks and earned US$0.02 from it
Swindon-Recycle 15 impressions0 clicks and earned us$0.00

BUT my total is 40 impressions and earned a total of US$0.08

so how can i find out where the 7 impressions 1 click and $0.06 come from?!

Channels are the best way to track your adsense earnings and were they come from. Right now google is having some issues with channels. It might just be on their end. I know my channels are all messed up at the moment.

Dan as frustrating as it can be I don't think they every add up quite right. I believe jerdei is right though that they're a little more wonky than usual right now.

Do you have more than one adblock on a page. One pageview for you. Two pageviews for AdSense.

Are you sure you have everything in a channel? Are you part of the adshare program here and did you add a channel for it?

I've seen this a few times too, Dan, and I have everything in a channel (URL channel if nothing else).

Big G doesn't seem to penalize for it, though, so just take it as pennies from heaven and say thanks.

Although I wonder...

I think those "extra pennies" come from CPM ads. You still earn money from those without anyone actually clicking on the ads. But as for how to track them, I'm unsure.

The only time I've seen clicks that weren't in channels is when something wacky was going on, like someone stole a page and wasn't smart enough to remove your AdSense, or people were loading pages via the Google translator, Google Cache, Yahoo Cache or translator ... you name it, lots of normal places it could happen, even via a proxy server.

Try this:

1. Go into AdSense Setup and click "Allowed Sites" and give AdSense a specific list of domains where your ads are allowed.

2. Double check your channels and make sure you have complete domain channels such as "mydomain.com" and then make sure your domains are properly canonicalized and in working order.

3. Put the meta "NOARCHIVE" in the top of every page you have control over just because I said so

See if that doesn't clear up the discrepancy and if it doesn't, ask AdSense to audit your account for any anomalies.

I've had wacky stuff with my channels before, it might just be a problem on G's end.
