Hey everyone,

I'm really new to adsense...actually I just signed up for it last sunday. Anyways, I finished my website after putting google ads on it, and sent a mass message to my friends on facebook and email listing.

before i get the "don't tell your friends, cause they might have over clicked phrase" Don't worry, I specifically told them to only click something if they're interested in it, and that I didn't want to get banned from adsense.

I got a couple clicks an generated about $1.

Since tuesday though I've gotten a few more clicks, but no cash at all. Ads are still visible on my site, and I can still log into google adsense account. I'm just really confused as to what's going on.

If anyone knows what's going on, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

It happens all the time. You should still be careful about telling all your friends. Even if you told them only to click if their interested it's exactly the kind of thing Google tells you not to do.

You're not really supposed to drive attention to the ads.

there are all kinds of factors involved in the payout
start with the advertisers budget, then add the following, location of click, how many clicks from a IP, position of ads on page.
I am only stipulating here but this is what I think fctors into the payout amount as I have had different payouts, but seem to have the same ads displayed. basically tho, you are being paid for adding some html to your site, so anything that you get is a bonus is it not? unless you have made your site for the purpose of adsense, then well i guess it's tough going with all the millions of other sites advertiing also. I have had my site up with adense for only 3 weeks and have made enough to go for some beers with my co-author, so stoked on that.

Also as tempting as it is to tell mates about the ads etc, never do, tell them about your site, if they see something they like they will click, but NEVER encourage any clicks, not worth being booted, my mate had a site making him a good chunk of change, got greedy sent an email to a mass amount of friends saying click one ad every few weeks and got booted for it, no joy in that!
