Has anyone else noticed that adsense page impressions, clicks, page CTR and Page eCPM are up, but the earnings are down? Could this be the results of an influx of low paying advertisers?
I think your right about Google's "Smart Pricing". There may be adjustments may be going on.
Quote:
How smart pricing works
We are constantly analyzing data across our network, and if our data shows that a click is less likely to turn into business results (e.g. online sale, registration, phone call, newsletter sign-up), we may reduce the price you pay for that click. You may notice a reduction in the cost of clicks from content sites.
This helps adwords users, but hurts adsense users.

www.adbrite.com . It's a competitor to big G, and they'll take anyone (literally...no prescreening required.)
I've noticed a lot more impressions, but eCPM has been about the same (which means my earnings are generally up...still not anywhere close to where I want them to be, but then again, I haven't played all my cards yet.)
Yes it is true that recently adsense has been paying less than one cent for some clicks. I still use adsense just because of their previous history. I suppose adbrite is worth a try. My concern is a program that apparently takes just about anyone does not really sit right with me.
Also Google has been around for a while and I have never before heard about them cheating people out of their money. I think this is not true.
It may be that advertisers who are getting clicks from our sites with little return, are banning the sites in their Adwords accounts. This means that the pages are populated by adverts from lower bidders.
