My primary school headmaster gave me the nickname Wicko when I played in the school soccer team. I was shirt number 3 as well.

Been Rocky for almost as long as I been breathing, although there's speculation, no one recalls for sure how it got started.
The 1 got stuck on there in a different forum, which I don't mind really. After years of being asked ridiculous questions about Sylvester and his movies it's nice to have it there! Always told everyone I was the original, so the 1 in the handle shows it.

Mine is the name of a band. One of those really great bands that never made it anywhere.
It actually means:
" one or more notes or tones preceding the first downbeat of a musical phrase"
pronounced anna-crew-sis

Hey! Watch it there!
Anacrusis, I was just about to say...your name brought to mind music theory as soon as I saw it.

I thought of mine at a stage when every other Nickname was "Maverick" (viva top gun) or some sort of natural disaster - "Tornado", "Whirlwind".
I picked Tsunami to be a little different, and because the early 90's were also a time when substituting "z" for "s" was cool, I thought why not?
Seemed like a good idea at the time!

Great Thead!
I chose Jezmier because it is my first name. It's completely unique. If there is another Jezmier out there, I've never heard of him! So I find it's always an available Username wherever I go. Kinda nice Also I can tell friends to type my name into any seach engine to see what they come up with. Be warned if you decide to try this though... My past is a bit shady :P

JakSmit
pronounced
Jack Smit
My name is Jack Smith
and I had the nick name Smit
(just chop off the h from smith)
then I just got rid of the c from Jack
On some boards people think JakSmit
is my real name and think I am German
or something.

Well, I go by Ounique because this is the company I work for, so I guess that's easy enough. As far as pronounciation goes, this seems to be a bit of a mystery in the online community, so I'm here to set the record straight. The "O" is supposed to be silent so that it reads as "Unique", however so many people call it "Oh-Unique" that I've actually started calling it that also.
One time, I was at Internext and a guy asked me how to pronounce it, and after being there for three days and on very little sleep I replied "well, it's pronounced "unique", as the "O" is silent... unless you're really excited about us and you say "Oh! Unique!!!"
He didn't think it was very funny.

It's pretty complicated, and goes back to the early days of the internet (late '70s, early 80s) when Usenet or Netnews was pretty well dominated by men, and sometimes women weren't treated very well. My initials are siam, and I sort of switched them around and came up with sami, which I changed to sammy - and that was my user name for just about everything until the day came when I there were too many people using it. I had moved to Tucson, and taking the idea from Yosemite Sam, I became Tucsonsam.

I used to play starcraft (an online video game) and I was trying to think up a great clan name when my computer call of the sudden slowed to a hault and gave me the macfee message saying medium risk virus detected.
Thats when I decided on the clan name: Clan Virus, my starcraft name was The[virus] and I decided to use it for my yahoo email. From there it was burned into my head so I will never forget it.
Ps: My friends always call me thevirus now because I forced them to join the clan and they always thought my name was stupid

...Incidentally, did you realise that "Slade" is the name of a (comically notorious) prison here in the UK?

My username here is the name of my first hosting service. Since then I have blended 2 other services together and no longer use that username.
I have a variety of usernames I commonly use on different forums. tygersclaw, DJ Canada, itechosting, and Wave Wizard are the most commonly used ones I have.

My username come from my name - Ognyan ( Огнян ), just is changed to ognen. Both words come from Bulgarian and mean: fiery. So, ognen==fiery and I'm really with fire inside.

Mine came from me being peed off of all my names taken So I randomly wrote down some letters.
Later one night (whilst smashed) I re-arranged them and was lucky enough that it was kind of a word.
No idea how to pronounce it.

mine came about when an anal forum mod made me get a "real" isp address ... not a private domain name ... that was advertising in his book ... and free accounts were banned ... so my T line provider gave me a "normal" account to use ... to keep it from looking too fishy to those moderators I made it a variation of my initials and name ... now it is just handy to keep my personal stuff separate from all the rest ...
