I'm an electronic technician. Don't feel old pencer...I'm older than you are. Anyway, until recently put on unemployment I was repairing satellite receivers. I like the break though.

Just joined recently and still need to get some set-up options completed. Will be surfing to see what I find here.

3rd year Comp Sci undergrad at Emmanuel College, Cambridge. I have built, modified and run a number of websites for university societies, including a custom written gig-tracking system for the Cambridge University Ceilidh Band.

Currently limping along with a MIDI based project in C++, raw win32 and OpenGL... ouch.

I work part time at webdesign projects people ask for, but the majority of my income is from advertising on my website.

Hello everyone.

I'm currently working as an evening manager for one of the UK's largest retailers but find it incredibly boring and am looking to do something far more interesting and challenging in the near future.

I started a degree in computing back in 1989 and am thinking of maybe studying again cos my 6 year old son is beginning to know more about our computers and network than I do

Padawan,
I can feel for you... believe me!

Well, I am attached to an American MNC semiconductor company, trying to keep up with the youngsters here. At late thirties, I am one of the "old man" there.. At home, my 5-year old son is already playing the C&C: Generals on the PC..

My 50-year old colleague told me that I shouldn't push myself too hard - 'cos I am no longer young.... Gosh, it 's getting tough... Age is catching up... or is it just the state of the mind?

State of mind and body. I'm 33. I'm not particularly healthy, but I've always considered myself to have a strong body. Well, 2 weeks ago I got the Flu. When I went to the doctor, he freaked out -- he was like, "when people with Asthma get the Flu, they die! Go to the hospital!" Turns out he was almost right, I ended up pretty damaged. But here's the point: I go to have dinner with my in-laws last night, they are in their 60s, and will live forever! Not really, but as I sat there listening to them chat about 80-mile bike rides and touring Italy, I realized that THEY might outlive ME. I am just not taking care of myself the way they do.

I've got the mindset: I try to think young, and I keep my mind sharp with brain games (TextTwist, oooohh, addicting). But now comes the hard part: treating my body like a temple. Eating well. Exercising. This is HARD. But I'm learning to appreciate the longevity it brings.

Anyway, back on topic. I've been a Webmaster most of my adult life. I got into it in 1994, and published the first printed magazine about the Web, called WEBsurf. Very low-budget (printed as a flexi, if you know what that is). Eventually, Borland hired me as a full-time Webmaster. Then Actuate, then Arzoo, then SST. I've been on my own for about 4 months now, building sites that interest me, hoping that 1 or 2 might make money before my savings runs out.

I'm having fun. It has been a great ride so far.

web designer/builder and entrepreneur. I am starting my design firm and I have an interest in publishing childrens books and animating for children and other niche markets. Think Pixar on a really really really small tiny scale.
