I haven't slept for more than 2 hours a night since 4/30 (The birth of my second son), and I think I am losing my mind. Can someone, ANYONE, PLEASE SEND ME SLEEP...and a piece of mind?

I have just sent it... It will be arriving shortly in an unmarked envelope.

seriously, you might seek herbal medicine from GNC or something.

Phil's suggestion is close to what I recommend. Is it Maxwell or Porter that are keeping you up?

If it is Maxwell - by some "Sleepy Time" Tea. It is completely homeopathic, nothing harmful in it. Give Maxwell a half a cup of mildly brewed tea about 45 minutes before bed. You may have to add some honey for him to want to drink it. It works .... DarkLink swears by it even now at nearly 18.

If it's Porter ... he was born a big boy. Formula or breast milk may not be enough for him. Dr.'s will recommend against it, but generations of sleep deprived parents will testify to giving him an ounce or two of infant cereal before bed time. You only need to mix in a small amount of the cereal...not even enough for an adult to notice, a baby spoonful will work for 2 ounces of formula. It's just enough to keep his tummy satisfied while Mommy & Daddy get some much needed rest.

Melatonin is good for sleep, taken just before bedtime. I sometimes take it if I have to reset my clock because of varying schedules. And it's natural, not habit-forming.

Congrats on the son... I suggest that you consume milk with him. Just don't drink his milk...lol... having a kid is great but I don't think that I would be fit for one yet... I barely take good care of a nephew or a baby cousin... good luck with you..

I guess you need to drink beer or vodka..but if you're alcoholic you need to drink milk..it will help you to get your sleep and that's for sure..

It's a hungry, crying baby that keeps me up. Alchohol does help though...in other ways. I did get 4 hours sleep last night and I feel almost human! The bigger he gets, the longer he will sleep, the more my wife and I will sleep. I'm hoping 5 hours is around the corner. Thanks for all of the help and suggestions.
